| Sesca: Magnetizing cabinet |

Sesca Energy Ltd’s new magnetizing cabinet was introduced in October 2008 at Tampere Energy Fair. The magnetizing cabinet is used to control the electricity transfer between a generator and the network. The cabinet has for example AC drives and protective relays. Cost Reduction was realized in the magnetizing cabinet project, and the objective was, besides good design and and usability, reducing relevantly the manufacturing costs compared to the previous solution. Velho Engineering implemented the design, mechanics engineering and prototype production for the cabinet. The most remarkable cost savings were gained by changing the connection methods; all welding was eliminated and the connections of the cabinet were made with riveted and screw connections. The new cabinet raised great interest at the Energy 2008 Fair. |
